Assistant Professor at KFUPM
During his PhD, Abdulaziz focused on exploring heterostructures based on two-dimensional (2D) materials, including both 2D/2D van der Waals (vdW) heterostructures and 2D/native oxide heterostructures, for applications in low-power electronics. His research delved into the interface effects on charge transfer within 2D/2D vdW heterostructures and examined the impact of oxidation processes on the properties of 2D/native oxide heterostructures. Notably, he demonstrated memristive switching in GaS/GaSxOy heterostructures formed through oxygen plasma oxidation. Abdulaziz is currently serving as an assistant professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia.
